Our history

Nature is a spectacle. And the Festival International Nature Namur (FINN) has decided to showcase it by devoting an intense week to it each year. If the FINN has given itself a mission, it is to amaze. By sharing exceptional images with the public, it raises awareness of the richness of the natural world around them and encourages them to adopt a responsible attitude towards their environment.

Born in 1995, the FINN is today the unmissable meeting place for lovers of nature and beautiful images, bringing together more than 35,000 spectators and visitors from all walks of life each year! With its three international competitions – photos, amateur films and professional films – and its multiple nature activities, it now ranks among the 5 biggest European events of its kind.

In 2015, the Festival resolutely opened its doors to the world with more than 30 nationalities represented through the 300 films in competition and hundreds of photos exhibited! For the first time in the history of FINN, countries such as South Africa, China, the United States, Japan, Australia, Russia, Iceland and India were included in the program. Without forgetting the number of directors and photographers who also responded to the call by sending their images from the four corners of Europe.

And the 28th edition continues on this same momentum! 2,055 films and 5,242 photos in competition! Needless to say, how arduous and exciting the pre-selection work is. How to choose from so many mostly exceptional images?

This year again, for 10 days, discover our selection of some of the most beautiful wildlife photos and documentaries in the world!

Everyone knows that biodiversity is in danger. May these fabulous images touch you, dazzle you and bring you a little closer to this wild nature which is crumbling more every day...
