The first objective of the Festival is to promote the beauties of our planet on the big screen but also to highlight its fragility.
The main theme is therefore the "Nature" in the broad sense of the term. But in non-professional category, we have open an other theme dedicated to Parks and Garden"
In International CANON Competition of Nature Photographer, the main theme is Nature in the broad sense of the term.
The selected films have to be dedicated to the discovery, the protection and the preservation of the Nature and wildlife.
Priority should be given to originality, rhythm and the scenario.
The subject may be covered in the form of a documentary, a report, an interview, a clip, etc.
It is why, in addition to documentaries on specifically zoological topics (mammals, birds, amphibans, insects, fish, etc.) or botanical subjects, films may deal with forest management by forest rangers, a Commune Development Plan for Nature, developing the banks of a water course naturally, the role of the farmer or the work of a group of experts in the contexte of "Natura 2000".
The topic may also involve the work of vets, school trips into the country, "nature"training courses, scout and guide camps, fischermen, bird-watchers, photographers, hunters, loggers (the wood sector as a whole), fish farmers, mountain biking, pony trekking, rambling with the Adeps sports association hiking, reports on the nature reserves and bird sancturaries of Belgium, ... in short, anything that involves man in nature !
